    1985 Bora Key Sync Help

    Hi,

I'm posting on behalf of an old neighbour that doesn't know how to use a computer

He has a 1985 Bora and recently a key of his needed a battery replacing.

However, he can't seem to sync it so that it works with his car.

I looked up a YouTube video where you can use two keys to do it, but unfortunately he only has the one.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

Your car spec says 0, only what I've added from this thread minus the engine size/type.

Replacing key fob batteries doesn't usually mean you have to re-sync the key chip.

    Recheck the YouTube video's again?

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

Thread moved to the correct section as OP can't read sub forum titles.

    Hi Keith,

Thanks for the warm welcome to your forum. Albeit, very outdated. Feels like I've gone back in time here.

I don't know his full car spec and a free fix is correct. It's likely I won't see this forum again once I get my answer.

I'm helping an old man who can't use a computer to help him get his car key sorted...

Anyway, I appreciate the suggestion I will pass it on to him.

I'll post my scan results on Reddit instead.

    Have a good day!

Well you do get a warm welcome when you make an intro.

When posting problems on forum you post the full car spec not what your friend tells you to help him out.

    1985 Bora Engine????

Crasher says 2005, I don't know how he knows this as the car spec hasn't changed.

I don't see engines listed for 1985 Bora.
