    Known Common Issues

    Alright you lot?

We have just bought a 2016 Tiguan 2.0 TDI version...

What are the common issues? Known things to go wrong etc...

Also, any info on the engines is always handy... It picks up really well what size are the Turbos and what boost do they run at?
Teh dealer didn't know any of the engine related questions we asked.

We've always had Landrovers, old ones so we like to know what things we should expect haha.

    Cheers you lot.

Hope it has not had the EA189 emissions recal.

Emissions isn’t something we worry about, but why would it be a problem if it has had the recall?
Surely it would have been brought in and fixed and job done or did the fix causes issues later on?

Why don’t you worry about emissions? You must remember the VW emissions debacle from a few years ago, your engine was the main one involved and there was a recall which in the UK is voluntary and in many cases it made the engines rough and noisy, in many cases it seemed to accelerate failure of the already unreliable EGR valve. I have advised any of our customers who have asked to not have it done.

Ahh ok, we don’t care about emissions we usually take the EGR valve and Cat off of our cars, usually as soon as we get them home lol. But nowadays it’s not that easy, so with this newer car we’ll just leave it alone as we bought it for long holiday trips anyway.

I thought they stopped using EGR valves now and just had DPF and AdBlue? EGR was always a pain, anyway.
I’ve just asked my dealer if our car was recalled or not.
