Hi all,
As a result of my daughters car sitting on drive for a year through lockdown, unfortunately moisture has got into the airbag control unit causing the fault light on the dash. I removed the airbag control unit and had it looked at by 2 companies both reporting that moisture had damaged the board.
I have looked all over the net for a replacement and cannot get the same part number being: 6Q0 909 605 AL its the last Letter 'L' that I cannot seem to match up.

So therefore looking at buying a new one sadly? any suggestions as to where to buy them cheapest?

Thanks

That controller is specific to a particular air bag system used between 07/03 and 07/05, only on the New Beetle, with the Pr codes 4X3 and 4UE for a UK model, from VW they are £567.80. From VW there would also be a colour code (I know, odd) after the main number and I think that would be 004

okay so finally fixed ! I manged to buy a used airbag control unit for £100 on ebay, then know a very good diagnostic guy who coded it for £70. I then found that error codes where coming back randomly with main airbag N95 then passenger side? so checked under seat yellow plugs and used contact cleaner, removed steering wheel airbag and did the same. Put it all back and everything is working ! light is now extinguished on the dash !!!
