Unfortunately had an error in judgement and manage to scuff the lacquer a paint on front nearside alloy.

Fortunately didn't damage wheel but local specialist wants £90 to paint; say the wheel has to go through complete wheel refurb process.

I note that there are various silver paint colours for VW alloys and would be grateful for details regarding paint colour of the alloys fitted to my Red 2013 Match Edition Polo 1.2.

Regards and Thanks in anticipation.

Brian.

The colour code of the rims is the last three characters of the OEM part number, which is marked on the back of the alloy rim.

Here are three popular colour codes

8Z8 diamond silver
88Z bright chrome
Z49 grey metallic

You can also take a look at the alloy rims for the Polo on the "VW online parts catalogue" which lists all the OEM part numbers and the associated 3-digit colour codes.

Once you know the colour code, touch-up paint can be ordered online from places such as ebay.

Sometimes an "L" is added to the 3-digit colour code, so that 8Z8 becomes L8Z8, 88Z becomes L88Z, and Z49 becomes LZ49, etc. However, the colour would still be the same.

Hi Big453.

Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately, the only string I can identify is LP3G which is Flash Red body colour.

Searched Google but cannot find association between label codes and Alloy wheel colour.

Would appreciate any further assistance you are able to provide.

Boot label photo attached.

Regards and Thanks

Brian.

Below is a translation of the build codes shown on the white label/sticker in your spare wheel well. Not all of the build codes are shown on the white label/sticker in the spare wheel well.

It's disappointing that VW don't give new car owners all the build codes for their cars, as this information would help them to identify many items on their cars, including brakes, shock absorbers, springs, and all the optional equipment, etc.

1AT = Electronic stabilization program (ESP)
QI6 = Service indicator 30,000 km or 2 year ( variable )
7MJ = Emission standard EU5 plus
CJ5 = Alloy wheels 6J x 15
H8D = Tires 185/60 R15 H
4KF = Side windows in heat-insulating glass, from B-pillar and rear window dark tinted
3NC = Rear seat bench/backrest, split folding
1MB = Sports steering wheel (hollow rim)
Q1A = Standard front seats
J2S = Battery 280 A (51 Ah)
9I0 = Dipped beam headlights as daytime running lights
8M1 = Rear window wiper and washer system with intermittent control
8BK = Twin headlight for driving on the left, with integrated high beam
U0L = Instrument insert with tachometer clock and mph speedometer
8RL = 6 speakers (passive)
8TD = Rear fog light for driving on the left
8WB = Front fog lights
8AE = Radio "RCD310 MP3"

VW Codes Decoder

These are your alloy rims, as they have build code CJ5. Therefore you have alloy rims with colour code 8Z8. 8Z8 is diamond silver.
