Battery Dead

Mrs rydalong went to go out this morning but everything on the Golf was dead. Central (un)locking would not work and although the dash lights lit up the engine would not turn over.

Mrs rydalong is sure the vehicle was "shut up" as normal last evening. Battery charged and off it went as normal, although a couple of dash lights did not extinguish until the vehicle was driven a little. It will now be left overnight to see what the situation is tomorrow.

This incident is the first hiccup with the three year old vehicle.

Obviously there is/was a battery drain somewhere, but where? Any guidance will be appreciated, please. Thanks.

PS - 20.04.2015

No problem this morning. Can only think the boot or something was not completely shut.

I had the same problem once soon after getting my new Golf Plus. It took an age to recharge the battery too!

The problem never returned and I put it down to one of the interior lights having been left on for several days...
