The bulb out warning light on my golf plus comes on intermittently even though all of the lights seem to be working. Even the VW garage does not seem to know why. Anyone any ideas?

Hopefully the central electrics system will have stored a code to tell you which light unit is causing the problem which will give you a start in diagnosing it.

Problem is your connections. First thing is that its either front head lights or rear brake lights. The actual holder for the bulb (where the bulb sits on, the platform) which is broken and need replacing. Costs about £10. To diagnose it is pretty simple, wait for the bulb out light to come on, get someone to sit in drivers seat and watch the bulb out light. You will need to go to each headlight and hit it with your hand, not too hand but not too soft either. The light which you hit and the bulb out light goes off, it is the faulty one.
