Hi all I changed over my front suspension in the cabriolet to vr6 shocks with 60mm lowering springs on, straight away I noticed the gap under the bonnet it's pretty big and also causing a bit of knocking. I used the old top mounts could this be why? Everything went in correctly just wondering if anyone knows how to sort this or if there are top mounts for the vr6 specific

You should not have a problem but yes the VR6 does have a completely different top mount assembly with the system known a Pr-2E1. We sell what we call a "comfort kit" which comprises an engine bay top plate, top mount, top mount nut, top mount rubber, spring plate and damper cover from the PR-2E1 setup but we use the Golf 4 GTI short bump stop and this setup works extremely well and is much quieter than the original. Later Golf 3's went over to this system anyway apart from the bump stop and it also fits all Golf 2's as well. You can also have the Powerflex top mount instead of the OE type.
