Hi. My car was in the dealership yesterday for a service, and I'd asked for the voice control system to be activated. They didn't do it, informing me it would cost between £150 and £200 and implying I'd be mad to do it, and i should "just use Siri". I'm sure that's not what VW would like them to say to customers, but never mind...

I'm wanting to go ahead, despite the cost, but what is the going rate in the UK, does anyone know? Is there any competition in these things or is it fixed by vw?

Don't bother - a previous 7.5 had this actuated. I spent hours trying to get it to learn my voice. The eventual response was very hit and miss and it sometimes reacted to other noises such as a cough! For once the dealer is correct!

I tried to get VW Arnold Clark Glasgow to activate this for me, and they told me not to waste my time.

Its still annoying having two buttons on the car that don't do anything!

Heads up that the voice control button works when you're using Android auto. I didn't know this until pressing it the other day
