Hello!
I am interested in buying this t4 888 special. It has been converted into a campervan. I just don't know whether to get it or not!! Its selling for 4500£. Mileage is big though and that worries me. Here are the specs!

Volkswagen Transporter T4

♦️2003

♦️2.5 TDI

♦️888 Special

♦️Just under 160,000 Miles, these vans last forever!

♦️Drives great

—————————

- Hand painted red
(few visible marks from bad spots under paintwork, will show on viewing)
- Lowered
(G-max short shocks, 5” Springs, custom shock plates)
  • Dare F5 Alloy Wheels
  • Maxxis 215/40ZR17 tyres
  • Apple play/ DAB double din stereo
(comes with apple phone charger)
  • LED Tail lights
  • Clear tinted front indicators
  • Bonnet bra
  • Veedub transporters seat covers
  • Grip Royal steering wheel
  • Reverse sensors
  • Cut down exhaust
  • Shifter extender
  • VW shifter knob
  • Home made double cup holder between the front seats
  • Double fan wired to an on/off switch
(Great in summer)
- Upgraded dash speakers

————————————————

  • Converted to camper by myself
  • Leisure battery
  • Tv/dvd player
  • Easy use switch panel for all electrics
  • Slide out bed
  • Storage units & under bed storage
  • Sink and tap with running cold water
  • Portable double gas cooker
  • Spot lights
  • LEDs
  • Tailgate window curtains
  • Curtains behind cabin seats

————————————————

The van has had all this replaced during my ownership:

  • Rear tailgate privacy window glass
  • Starter motor
  • Fuel filter
  • Passenger side Ball joint
  • Passenger side Track rod end & arm
  • Sliding door rubber seal
  • Bumpers
  • Wing Mirror
  • Interior door handles
  • Sliding door rails
  • Tailgate lock latch
  • Passenger door lock mechanism
  • Accelerator pedal system

—————————

Can come with standard suspension, steering wheel & wheels incase new owner wants to change it back.

Body work isn’t perfect due to ex work van.

Most likely missed out a few things but it’s had over £2,000 spent on the van to get it how it is.

♦️£4500♦️
Sensible offers welcome

That could be a money pit, you should have it inspected first. Those engines do last but when the break they do it in style. It does not mention a cam belt and this is a complex expensive job.

Thank you for your reply! I will ask the seller about this. Do you think it's worth 4500 even with the cam belt being ok?

Well converted T4's do fetch high prices but I cannot emphasize strongly enough how important a pre sale check is. If the vendor refuses that is the cheapest check you can get, you just walk away.

Thank you so much. I am new to all this and don't know much about cars so I really appreciate it!
