Have you had a failed mechatronics unit?

I've had this problem after buying a 19 plate tiguan with 18000 mileage from a reseller. Fortunately, they covered the cost, but what a way to start with a car I've just purchased... I'm wondering if I should sell and go for something else to avoid the new mechatronic going faulty

If it is genuine VW and new then it has a two year dealer backed warranty and the replacements seem to be much better.
Thanks for this. Yep, this was done via the proper channels and by VW (the car reseller are vw approved too).

I'm not sure if this helps, but on the invoice they ordered this mechatronic replacement part: 0GC325025EZ3E

I can't really find if its the 'revised replacement' though.

It looks like the error came back. I took it back to the showroom who were claiming that the car needed to be 'reprogammed' (not to entirely sure what that means, but I'll see it on the invoice to know more about it).

I would have thought this would have been done after changing the mechatronic, but maybe there was a reason it wasn't done.

Let's see how it goes.

It MUST have the basic settings performed and verified before handover. Reprogramming suggests reflashing the software which is possible, if they have the equipment. We were supposed to be doing one on a Leon yesterday but the part failed to arrive.
That sounds about right. When I enquired, they were going to hook it up with a computer of some sort.

From your experience, is this a common after replacing the mechatronic?
