afternoon folks,

looking for a little help & advise,

i've recently (last week) had the abs light & yellow steering wheel light come on on the dash of my mk5 jetta (1K chassis).
i've run a scan with vcds/vagcom & it's thrown up two fault codes, first is 00778 steering angle sensor (G85) defective & 00283 abs wheel speed sensor front left (G47).

i've got both sensors for the steering wheel (clock spring & the one underneath) & a new abs sensor on the way (should be here tomorrow),

now my question is, when i have replaced the above parts how would i go about resetting the faults & getting the car back on the road?
from what i can see online i need to use vcds/vagcom to do this.

how do i do this using vcds? i'm new to this kind of thing & unable to get a garage to do it.

any help & advise or walk throughs would be a massive help.

thanks in advance.

With luck, after replacing both sensors, a quick drive from and some lock to lock when stationary should clear the steering warning, if not check the ABS for codes again. If it still will not clear there is a procedure in VCDS
