Hello,

I have an 1997 Mk3 with 1.6 AFT engine. In the 3rd position of the relay panel, there is some patchwork made by the previous owner.

That seems to be empty on most of the pictures I found.

Mine looks like this:

The relay is having part number 7N0 951 253 and 507 written on the top of it.

As many document I check, as many function I find for this slot. Any idea, what should it be? Is it some repair, or someone added a "feature" which don't exist in that model?

Thanks,

Mihaly

That is position 3, this is where the ECU relay would be, I am not sure if it would be a 30 or 109 but I think a 30, so VAG number 165 906 381. Slot 4 provides an unfused battery feed, slot 6 is the output to the ECU and the Air Mass Meter, slot 1 is the relay coil earth, slot 3 is ignition live, slot 5 the relay trigger from the ECU itself and slot 2 is rpm pulse but not used.

That was it. I replaced the mess with Hella 4RA 007 507-071, everything works.

Thanks for the help,
