Polo 1.9 sdi gearbox etf

Can anyone help me source a gearbox for my vehicle. They are like hens teeth

Used 10/99 to 7/01... I am not surprised they are rare. It was used in the Lupo SDI as well at roughly the same time. What may help is the FFV and FDQ are the same and were used in the Polo 6N as well as the Seat Arouser

Thanks for that mines an etf. Found one in Ireland but they won't ship because of brexit. Will continue my search

I meant to make it clearer that the ETF, FFV and FDQ are the same.

Chose your rebuilder carefully, many are not very good and the 085 series boxes are not very easy to strip down.

Would a dta box from a 1.9 diesel fit?

The DTA was used in the Polo Classic/Seat Ibiza/Cordoba from 09/98 to 09/2001 and is a 02J design, this is completely different to the 085 and I think the bell housing bolt pattern is different. I image it could be made to fit as the Ibiza is related to the Polo but it would be very hard work.
