The rear screen heater won't work on our Mk4. We had a problem with the fusebox, but had this fixed; but still no joy.
When you press the heater button it illuminates but still the heater doesn't work. I've had a look at the wiring to the tailgate (in the bellows at the top passenger side) and found that there were two wires that had the insulation split. As a temporary measure I put some insulation tape around them to isolate them from each other. Still nothing. I know we don't need this to be able to work in this weather.
Can anyone help, please?
One other question before I forget - what is the 'whirly arrow' button for? We've got no aircon.

Thanks in anticipation
John
(They don't make 'em like my Mk2 'rocco anymore - so simple to work on!)

The rotating arrow is for heater intake air recirculation should a smelly vehicle be in front of you. Check fuse 26 has power both sides.
