Hi,

So I removed my wiper blades took off the cover to the plenum chamber and cleaned the area with a vacuum cleaner and blower. It wasn't bad actually so I will have to track down the little leak I have (that's another story).

Putting it back together I then tested if blades and washer worked ok. They did. So I press the door lock button and nothing happened. I changed the key battery and still nothing so I changed fuse 38, my windows all dropped down, I powered them back up and the locks worked fine but esp light was on dashboard.

The next day I pressed the ESP button and the light went out but the windscreen wipers didn't work and no power to 12V sockets. So I have changed fuses started the car 3 or 4 times then......Nothing. The car wont start at all now. The battery is less than a year old and fully charged.

Anyone know what the problem may be? a basic code reader revealed nothing.

*UPDATE*
The car was recovered by a local garage. They basically 'rebuilt' the fuse boards. It started fine and a test drive shows everything working normally. They said it was a bit of a challenge specially with the wiring diagram and the VW Plus being a bit of a mixture. Total cost including recovery ÂŁ196. I'm well chuffed.

The garage couldn't find any information on fuse number 12 in the engine fuse box, wattage, use etc.
However, when pulled, the car cut out!

How long is a piece of string?

There is no such thing as a basic code reader.

You need to get your motor scanned (preferably with VAG-COM\VCDS) for any error codes logged in the ecu and post them, that will save a lot of guessing and check systems out.

If it started before your removed the wiper blades recheck what you have done.

There moved to the correct section as OP can't read the sub forum titles as its not a general question. ;)
