So this problem has been around for a good month or so now .
Basically when I get on the motorway it will start fluctuations on the Coolant temperature gauge.sometimes one quarter down then climb up then go down half way and eventually lower then first quarter.
Sometimes it will do this on local driving as well
When this happens if I want heating it will take the rev upto around 1000rpm. If I switch heater off and put accelerate pedal down it will take the rev back to normal.
When it's taking the coolant temperature down at the same time will start reducing the oil temperature as well.
When the coolant temperature goes down it effects my fuel efficiency as well.
Sometimes when it keeps the rev on idle higher at 1000rpm it has the radiator fan on as well and I can smell rubberish smell at the back of exhaust.
I have replaced the thermostat, I have replaced coolant temperature sensor, I have replaced the coolant flush and put new on in.
I am so frustrated with issue now that it has started to put me off vw even though I have had vw's for a decade now.
Also another friend of mine who has anot 2011 passat b7 like mine has the same issue as well.
