Hi guys/gals.

I see users asking my Golf gearbox is knackered what gearbox will fit. I thought is would be a good idea to make a VAG Engine & Transmission Codes app that shows all engine and transmission codes on all VAG vehicles.

You can download PDF files of the web but these aren't new, these files are in the help file. This app has taken me a few months to compile the data from ETKA as you can't copy and paste anything. This app shows:

Image

Engines 6,021

AUDI 1,377
SEAT 658
SKODA 522
VW 3,464

Transmissions 12,289

AUDI 3,374
SEAT 1,237
SKODA 1,126
VW 6,253

If you wanted to print all this data from ETKA there will be a lot of pages.

ETKA Engines

Audi 26 pages
Seat 12 pages
Skoda 11 pages
VW 63 pages

ETKA Transmissions

Audi 58 pages
Seat 19 pages
Skoda 20 pages
VW 97 pages

If you have downloaded and used my EOBD II Fault Codes Software there is nothing to install as it uses then same COMCTL32.OCX. If anyone has trouble running this app on a Windows 64bit system let me know and I'll make an installation package.

NOTE:
With this new update I've added the 8 pdf files saved from ETKA so you can save them all or individually from the app.

If you think this app if useful please click the Like button.

20/10/2015 New Update Link

New updates added.

If you don't want to use my app and extract all 8 PDF files I've added a separate download for the 8 PDF files.

This is a picture of the new version the old one that won't show from MTD is all UPPERCASE as the PDF shows.

This version:

Ok I've checked all info and corrected typo's on the dates as it easy to copy and paste from the pdf file.

ETKA shows 2015 Golf Sportsvan which the pdf shows 02/14-

I've added the new 8 pdf files to the app which you can save to the app folder.

It appears that with every ETKA monthly update there are new dates added so it will be an on going task to keep my app up to date.

I've downloaded this new update and it works like every app I've added to RapidShare.

Jonathan123 - we don't know what you drive as you car spec only says: 2000 VW, which model and engine do you have?

I update this app every month when I install the new ETKA updates. As you can see from the file date 14=05-2015 I haven't posted a new update because users don't seem that interested in my app. The new ETKA 7.5 Plus shows details in a slightly different format, it now shows the date with the full year and model variants in the same code number.

If you want to print all data that will take a lot of paper. If you print the Audi Engine PDF file that's 85 pages, VW Engine PDF file that's 92 pages, Seat Engine PDF file 8 pages, Skoda Engine PDF 5 pages. The Audi Transmission 232 pages, Seat Transmission 23 pages, Skoda Transmission 20 pages, VW Transmission 321 pages.

With the new app you can right-click on the Engine data and Transmission data and copy any selected data to the Window Clipboard and paste that into a forum or text file.

e.g.

Manufacturer: VW, Mounting Time: 07/2003-01/2005, Model: Bora, Engine Code: BEW, 74Kw, 100PS, 1.9 Ltr, 4 Cyls , Remarks: Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI)

Manufacturer: VW, Mounting Time: 08/2009-08/2015, Model: California CampMobil, Engine Code: CAAC, 103Kw, 140PS, 2.0 Ltr, 4 Cyls , Remarks: Turbocharged Direct Injection Common Rail (TDI-CR)

Manufacturer: VW, Mounting Time: 10/2011-07/2016, Model: Novo Fusca Beetle, Engine Code: CAVD, 118Kw, 160PS, 1.4 Ltr, 4 Cyls , Remarks: Brazil: Turbocharged Stratified Injection (TSI)

Ok guys/gals.

This thread has been on here since 27/03/2014. Now the main app is VAG Engine & Transmission Codes 14/05/2014 which isn't new by computer standards but there hasn't been may uses that want it.

The new app has a better feature from the old app where you can right-click on any line of code shown and copy & paste the info to a file or forum. It saves printing out hundreds of sheets of paper.

I save the PDF file from ETKA every month when I update the database. The app will save all 8 PDF files so you can browse or check details. I've just uploaded all 8 PDF files from 05/2017 ETKA as a separate download. The newer PDF files don't show the older models, may app shows them all.

The new VAG Engine & Transmission Codes PDF 12-05-2017 is in post #1 if you only want the PDF files.

If anyone wants the new app let me know and I'll upload that?

First posts normally go in introductions else you could get a free fix and we never see you again!!!

Don't think that making an intro will fix this comment as you've already ask the question.

Have you Googled this app that's why you joined this forum? This app is posted on a few forums. This old app is free to download and use. No one apart from a member of the Ross-Tech forum has asked for the new app.

Do you have a VAG vehicle, if so please add you car spec to your profile.

Hiya

Good point aha !!

I am also a VCDS/VAG-COM user

I own a V10TDi LWB Phaeton, a 1.9TDi Bora, a 2.8 V6 4Motion Bora and am building an AC Cobra replica on S5 running gear with a 3.0 VR6 Compound Turbo setup up front with an Audi B8 2.0T gearbox in the rear (heavily modified rear subframe)

Haven’t googled the app as yet, will do that shortly

Was looking to see what the most powerful FWD engine/gearbox setup was available in the B8 or later cars (as I have one in the rear of the cobra and am more than likely going to destroy it !

All the best

Sam

What year is this Phaeton V10? The only Phaeton V10 is:

Manufacturer: VW, Date(s) Used: 12/2002-10/2006, Model: Phaeton, Engine Code: AJS, 230Kw, 313PS, 4.9 Ltr, 10 Cyls, Remarks: Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI) V10

Do you have a genuine VAG-COM\VCDS or a cloned cable?

If you have a genuine cable add your details in VAG-COM/VCDS User Locations along with your location?

#15 ·
The Pheaton is a 54 Plate it’s also the rather rare 4 seat model!

Genuine cable, have had it a while and used it for plenty of retrofits etc - worth mentioning I also have a registered version of CarProg and the associated hardware (purchased that to replace the KESSY module in the phaeton after water ingress!)

As you suggest, will add details and locations on the relevant page once I’m more established with this forum

#16 ·
I see you've added your details, but a fault of this forum is it doesn't show for a few posts.

2004 Phaeton 4.9 TDI V10 LWB
2000 Bora 2.8 V6 4Motion (AUE Engine)
2000 Bora 1.9 TDI (ASV Engine)
VR6 Compound turbo powered Cobra.......

I haven't added the link for the new app which is a registered version which requires a donation via PAYPAL, its taken me years to develop this app, because no one has asked for it.

The other problem is I've got rid of ETKA (wish is along story) where I saved all 8 PDF files so I could update my app.

I've added a request to save all 8 PDF files and post them.

As normal forums don't do anything, there was 1 forum that posted the files but when I clicked on the link is said invalid link.

I made a comment but he hasn't replied.

Hi Keith
Wow that's amazing all the info you have gathered! I'm struggling to find a replacement gearbox for my mk5 golf 1.6fsi 6 speed, code JHY and wondered if I would find the info in these PDFs? Apologies for sounding a novice but wanted to check. I've found that Jetta and Touran use the same code so i can search in the scrappies for these modules too? (pic attached) Is there a way of checking if there are any other codes that will be compatible? I was given the part number from VW (0AG300040E) but this brings up other gearbox codes and I'm unsure whether they will be compatible! Head is spinning to say the least so would be extremely grateful of a point in the right direction!
Many thanks :)

Apologies if this is the wrong place for this query, I’ve been trying to avoid a post to ask for help… just stubborn! I have a P0036 o2 sensor heater control circuit sensor 2 fault that I cannot shift. 1k1 Golf. No other faults. Back pressure from the cat seems ok. Car runs great. Have replaced the sensor with another bosch unit and the fault remains. Scanner is telling me the Voltage is 4.5v.
Stumped.

#22 ·
o2 sensors are typically 4 wire, the heater side is 12v supply and ground, sensor side is typically 5v with reference voltage on the return much like any other sensor like MAF, MAP, CTS and so on.

heater control could be as simple as a fuse blown from damaged wires on a previous sensor, or a control module fault, or damaged loom wiring.

#24 ·
Which part number Bosch sensor did you fit after the cat?

#26 ·
That is a VAG number, so it was genuine and your car is DSG. Further than that I would need to look at the wiring diagram at work tomorrow, bank holiday today.

#27 ·
So I think I’ve narrowed the fault down to the ground wire on the heater circuit. I’m getting 12v on the +ve heater wire but only when I use an engine ground. From what I can tell from research it’s the ground that is switched for the heater circuit. But can I find a fuse or relay associated with the o2 heater circuit… can I #@ll! I found some references to fuse F11, mine didn’t have a fuse there so Ive slapped a 20amp in.. suffice to say I’m clutching at straws now and it made no difference to the fault code.

#28 ·
I need to check at work but yes the heater is ignition live power, ECU earth switched and if the sensor is genuine and definitely not faulty, this is going to be either wiring from the ECU or the ECU itself which does very occasionally happen due to water damage as VW put it in a daft place. I diagnosed one on a 2008 Golf 5 yesterday and it is only the second in about two years.
