experiencing some issues needed some advice on what's best to do.

been advised clutch 1 and 2 tolerance levels reached by diagnostic check, previously had a DSG service done which was just an oil change.

the oil used was synthetic as what the garage had requested would be fine - after doing some research its come to my conclusion it needed the MIL grade - mineral oil.

so after doing the service it run perfectly smooth and fine but didn't do the gearbox reset again as the garage didn't do so.

so I'm contemplating are the clutches worn down after the service or could it do with the software update and a recalibration - I have been advised it could go either way.

or a new clutch pack - but again many have said they cant or they don't mess with them or their too complicated. which are costing around ÂŁ1500 or would it be better getting a new gearbox to fit in - again would I have to change mech box for this ???

contemplating my choices let me know if anyone else has done so or what they think would be best.

There is no DQ200 DSG service, who advised you of this? There are two fluids used in the DQ200, one for the gears and one for the Mechatronic, which one was changed? There is no reset and it is unlikely there is a software update for it, do you have a full scan of the transmission? What problems are you experiencing?

The mechanic filled the gearbox oil with fully synthetic oil and they drained the old oil and filled it via a massive syringe.

the codes that now come up are saying clutches have reached tolerance 1 and 2 P177B.

I think because of the oil not being dealer spec it’s allowed not met the requirements of the clutch and it’s been eating away possibly.

due to this I don’t know if it can be fixed by doing a re calibration on the clutch because in 4th gear when putting power down it revs and catches.
All other gears are fine just 4th.

To me it sounds like the oil they changed was the gear oil and this has absolutely nothing to do with the clutch operation, this is by the Mechatronic fluid which isn’t classed as being serviceable even though it can be. Synthetic gear oil cannot damage the Mechatronic circuit board as the synthetic Mechatronic fluid did when it reacted with the Lead free solder used, you are getting the synthetic oil problem confused.

You can't "just get another gearbox", the base unit as it is known has many variations and there are dozens of Mechatronic variations that are VIN codded.
