Hi all, I've only just discovered this forum. Can anyone help?

My 2000 (Y) Passat 130 Tdi has started to feel like it has lost power lately. It feels as if the turbo isn't working. I recently struggled to get 80 mph on the motorway! Several people have mentioned the Mass Air Flow sensor or Air Flow Meter but I'm having trouble locating it as it's not mentioned in the Haynes manual. Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a (Cheap!) solution?

That is classic AMM failure but please get a fault code scan done first. In 99% of cases AMM failure presents itself as a huge lack of power with no excessive black smoke and no fault codes. Pattern AMM’s cause terrible problems, often only lasting days so please buy a genuine VW exchange unit (part number 074 906 461 AX) which costs £75.20 inc. VAT from VW. This part number assumes your car is a 2001 model with an AVF or AWX engine. I have sent you an email to illustrate.
