Hello everyone,,
I just purchased a 2010 VW Golf DSG 1.4 with 48k miles on it from a private seller. We took it to the local garage who did a full service on it including replacing the coils and spark plugs. The diagnostic log still shows 3 faults found in the automatic transmission:
006079- Hydraulic Pump
P17BF Play protection intermittent
x2
and
006011 clutch 1
P177B 003 Tolerance Limit reached Intermittent
When we brought the car in, the first diagnostic showed the 2 hydraulic pump faults but the clutch fault didnt appear.
It also shows 2 faults in the engine:
000768 Random/Multiple cylinder misfire detected
P0300 000
and
000770 Cylinder 2
P0302 000 Misfire Detected MIL ON
The repair man said he thinks there is a broken spring in the cylinder since it wasnt fixed with the spark plugs and new coil. He didnt mention the problems in the transmission. He said he doesn't usually work with automatics and we should get it checked at an official VW dealer which we have scheduled for next week.
Until then:
Any idea what these faults mean? I am mostly finding info about spark plugs and coil but those have just been replaced.
Is it safe to drive until then? My biggest concern is further damaging the engine essentially making the car worthless.
If anyone knows what the faults mean, do you have any idea what the repairs will cost?
